I was relaxing by a lake when a mother black bear and a singular cub (they usually come in pairs, which suggests her other cub didn't survive for some reason) came down the hillside literally 20 feet behind me. Mother bear didn't seem worried about me...they went on eating Huckleberries and took a quick swim.  At the end of the day, they're all wild animals...if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, it could get a little nasty.
